Optimization on Linkage System for Vehicle Wipers by the Method of Differential Evolution

We consider an optimization problem on the maximal magnitude of angular acceleration output-links a commercially available center-driven linkage system (CDLS) for vehicle wipers windshield. The purpose this is to improve steadiness without weakening its normal function. Thus considered under assumptions that frame fixed links unchanged and input-link rotates at same constant speed with length unchanged. To meet usual requirements windshield, must be solved subject 10 specific constraints. expect optimizing would also helpful reducing amplitudes sound waves wiper noise. establish motion model CDLS then justify ADAMS. use “Differential Evolution” type method search minimum objective function constraints problem. Our computation shows both can reduced by more than 10%.
